Melissa Martin

Melissa is the owner and founder of DownDog Flow Studio, which she opened in 2015. She first discovered yoga and Pilates in 2005 after graduating from Bryant University. A two-time All-American Field Hockey player at Bryant, Melissa was searching for a new way to build strength, improve flexibility, and stay active after her collegiate athletic career.

For more than 10 years, Melissa has been a dedicated student of Ashtanga, Baptiste, and Vinyasa yoga, continuing to deepen her personal practice and knowledge. Her teaching style is known for its fun, creative sequencing with a strong focus on core strength, mindful movement, and proper alignment.

Melissa also created and trademarked BarreCEPT, a blend of barre, pilates, and power yoga into one intentional class designed to build strength, improve balance.

 
 

The Studio

Downdog Flow Studio was built on the philosophy of sharing a love for yoga, fitness, and community. As a locally owned independent studio, our teachers and students are passionate about creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to grow.

We believe fitness should be both inspiring and fun. Together, we celebrate progress, encourage one another, and build meaningful, long-lasting friendships both inside and outside the studio.
